About the event
Join this FREE live masterclass to explore why the F1 Race Engineer needs to be a true “Jack of All Trades”, with a broad understanding of the different areas that influence car performance.
In this session, Tony Ross, former Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Race Engineer for Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas, will take you down the rabbit hole of tyres and show how a Race Engineer needs to understand the fundamentals of tyre performance to make better decisions at the racetrack.
From tyre construction and grip generation to contact patch size, tyre temperature, pressure, surface aspect, and vertical load, Tony will demonstrate how different areas of race engineering are connected and why a Race Engineer needs enough technical knowledge across multiple disciplines to understand the bigger performance picture.
Whether you are an aspiring race engineer, a motorsport student, or already working in motorsport, this masterclass offers an insight into the breadth of knowledge and behaviours required to succeed as an F1 Race Engineer.
Tony will also introduce the Race Engineering Career Accelerator Program, where he is the lead instructor. The program is designed to support your path into professional motorsport. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from an experienced F1 race engineer and connect with others aiming to enter the industry.
