About the event
Running a modern motorsport event involves far more technology and infrastructure than what fans see on track. In this webinar, you’ll go behind the scenes of professional race operations and discover how timing, data and race control systems work together to deliver accurate information throughout a race weekend.
Led by Lluís Porqueras, Chief Timekeeper & Sporting Manager at the FIA World Endurance Championship, this session will explore the technology behind professional motorsport timing and data systems, including timing loops, transponders, Race Control systems, track limits technology, telemetry, fibre networks and live data distribution. Drawing on his experience across the FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA and Al-Kamel Systems, Lluís will share practical examples from major international championships, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and explain the engineering challenges involved in delivering reliable, real-time information to officials, teams, broadcasters and fans. Attendees will gain a unique insight into the technology and infrastructure that keeps modern motorsport running.
