Software used in this course
The Aerodynamics Design in Formula 1 course involves the use of industry-leading CATIA V5 CAD package, developed by Dassault Systèmes. This software is used by leading motorsport organisations, including Ferrari, Mercedes and McLaren.
Please note that the CATIA software license is not included in the price of this course and will need to be purchased separately or provided by the student.


Meet your course instructor
Martin Buchan

While studying a degree in Automotive Engineering from Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (Bavaria), Martin was selected for the Junior Engineer Programme at Audi AG. Upon graduating, Martin stayed with Audi for several years as a Design Engineer.
In 2016, Martin moved to England to study an MSc in Advanced Motorsport Engineering at Cranfield University and completed his Thesis with McLaren Applied Technologies.
Upon graduating, Martin landed a job at Sahara Force India F1 team (now Aston Martin F1) as an Aerodynamic Design Engineer, and also worked at BWT Racing Point F1 Team before founding Buchan Motorsport in 2020.
